Smithsonite - NTS 026

Measurements:  80 x 65 x 40 mm

Description:  A lovely specimen consisting of mainly greyish smithsonite crystals, including several pinkish ones, along with lots of chalcocite on the one side. 

There is a deep cavity in the specimen, lined with various sizes of smithsonite crystals. Unfortunately something we couldn't manage to photograph, but nice to view through a loupe.

The specimen displays well on a flat surface, all-round and in various positions. It has relatively little damage, only a few small nicks.

Hardness on Mohs Scale:  (smithsonite)  4 - 4.5
                                            (chalcocite)  2.5 - 3
